About Julie

Julie Clarke is a fully trained and qualified independent childbirth and parenting educator.

Julie and her partner Geoff live in Sylvania with their two sons: Ken, born in 1986, and Ryan, born in 1990.

Both boys were born naturally and Julie and Geoff have enjoyed sharing the wondrous experiences surrounding birth and parenting.

Julie has been a childbirth educator for over 20 years, and has attended many births with care and sensitivity, over the last couple of decades as a support person.  More...

• former facilitator of Active Birth sessions for twelve years at a large Tertiary Hospital in Sydney with well over two thousand couples having already attended her classes,
• Holds current Certificate IV Workplace Training
• Management Certificate TAFE
• Qualified Advanced Educator with the National Association of Childbirth Educators Inc (NACE Inc)
• Former Editor of the NACE Inc National Journal “Interaction” for CBEs
• Active member of the NSW Midwives Association (Consumer member/representative Credentialling Committee)
• Long Term member of Australia's Breastfeeding Association
• Former Supervisor for the Associates in Childbirth Education Training for Graduate Diploma students.
• Regularly attends conferences, seminars and workshops to remain up-to-date
• Presenter at National and International conferences
• Julie is an adoring, proud mum to Ken (23 yr old) and Ryan (19 yr old), both birthed naturally Ken (16 hours, drug free, squatted for 2nd stage, breastfed for one year) and Ryan (1.5 hours, drug free, homebirth, waterbirth, breastfed for 2 years.)
• Julie has felt very privileged to have been in attendance at approximately 150 births as a support person over twenty years, some c.sections in operating theatres, some deliveries in delivery suites, some births in birth centres, including waterbirths and also homebirths 
• Consumer representative on the UTS Bachelor of Midwifery Planning Committee
• Former certified Hypnobirthing instructor
• Former Karitane post natal depression support telephone counsellor volunteer
