TheChildbirth and Parenting Preparation course is a six-week programme for expectant couples, that provides the information needed to make choices. It helps signpost the way through the final three months of pregnancy, labour, birth and the first few weeks after the baby is born. It teaches preparation for labour and birth, breathing, positioning, and includes a special focus on skills and techniques for keeping birth normal and avoiding or minimising any unnecessary intervention. It covers aspects of newborn care for parents during the first 12 weeks at home with the new baby. Partners are included and welcomed. They learn lots and usually become more supportive and more involved as a result of attending this course.

The calmbirth® course imparts the knowledge of birth preparation techniques such as relaxation, visualisation, breathing, positive imagery, attitudes/expectancy and safe, natural strategies for avoiding unnecessary medical intervention to achieve a rewarding, easier, more comfortable stress-free birthing experience. calmbirth® women and their partners are free of the fear that causes tension and pain.
