The pregnant women in Julie's courses are so reassured by the way Julie explains the process of labour, the way the body works, the way the baby responds, the choices and options open to you and what to reasonably expect, in a clear, concise, open, honest, positive, interesting way.
The pregnant women also like Julie's attitude towards including partners in a very respectful way, answering all of their questions, guiding and explaining many important "must know" factors. Partners are often so relieved when they have this information provided in an easy to receive format, they often comment they don't want to feel useless and all of Julie's courses are very careful to address this.
Julie covers many of the aspects that midwives in delivery suites, birth centres and homebirth accredited midwives would like couples to be aware of, though they often don't have the time or the educational resources to convey it to both the woman and her partner. Midwives recommend attending these courses with other pregnant couples for a broader social experience and exposure to further knowledge beyond their allocated time with the clinical visits.
Partners who have difficulty attending every medical appointment also benefit sigificantly by attending the Transition into Parenthood course.
Special Note: For cesaerean section mothers day two is all that is required and can be booked with Julie over the phone 9544 6441.
The feedback Julie receives from midwives working in hospitals is that they can really see a difference in the couples who come along to these courses, they are confident, they understand, they work as a team, they are informed and comfortable to work with and generally have very positive birth outcomes with a reduced amount of medical intervention.
Julie enables couples to interact in a positive way, as part of a team with staff in hospitals, by becoming informed of the facilities, as well as their rights and responsibilities during their usually fairly short stay in hospital.
Julie is a highly skilled childbirth educator and in a positive, reassuring, fun and inspiring way she is able to deliver the following topics to you in a way that is both interesting and effective, so when the time comes you feel well prepared and more confident.
Cost: only $350/couple.
Course materials: (updated and revised July 2011) are available for only $30, at cost price.
